Resene Paints

Resene Paints Ltd is the largest privately owned and operated paint manufacturing company in New Zealand, with operations in Australia and Fiji. Resene Paints operates a loyalty type ColorShop card for customers. This card provides the customer buying privileges when purchasing products from a Resene ColorShop.

A customer was able to sign up for a card at a Resene ColorShop. The customer details were entered into the system and a card was issued to them within 10 working days.

 

Aims and Objectives

Deliver an online point of sale solution that can:

  • Enable store owners/operators to capture data in geographically dispersed locations (100+ stores), whilst not affecting the internal network
  • Enhance the accuracy of the data capture process and the significance of the data so Resene has an up to date database enabling them to target customers with product and customer information in a timely way
  • Increase operational efficiency in terms of capturing data, reduction in costs associated with duplicate records, and reduce the issuance time of the ColorShop card

Our Solution

Using Eyede’s Secure Online Management System (eSOMS), Eyede delivered an end-to-end credential management solution for Resene throughout New Zealand and in Australia.

Some of the eSOMS features include:

  1. Web based data entry with auto complete fields and auto suggest to improve accuracy of data capture.
  2. PAF validation of all records entered (PAF is the Postal Address File managed by NZ Post).
  3. Ability to track and report incomplete customer data.
  4. Customised data exports for quantitative analysis.
  5. CSV file import/export.
  6. Ability to synchronise and distribute customer data through one centralised source to a specified manufacturer using eSOMS card production module.
  7. Full track and trace, reducing call centre inquired costs associated with card status inquiries.

 

Success Factors

  1. Increased operational efficiency with improved data accuracy, removal of record duplication and reduced card issuance from 10 days to 3-5 working days.
  2. The accuracy of the Colorshop Cardholder database is enhanced to the point that data is extracted from eSOMS and used for quantitative analysis by other business units within Resene.
